This Karkat is from the doomed timeline seen in [S]Roxy: Sleepwalk; dead god-tier flavour. He only knows the humans from occasional dream-bubble sightings, so he's not as likely to recognise them. His point of divergence appears to be pre-meteor, so none of his canon relationships apply, and he may not always remember the events of the webcomic clearly or as they happened in canon.
He's seen in the comic drinking tea with a dead Dream Nepeta in LoLCaT, so they seem to get on quite well. Headcanon? Totally at least a little flushed. He's also kind of pissed with (main timeline) himself for making stupid choices.
